SOLOMON, Kan. — One person is dead after an early morning fire today in Solomon.
The fire was reported about 4:44 AM in the 200 block of West 6th, and when firefighters and Dickinson County Sheriff’s deputies arrived the home was fully engulfed in flames. Two adults and one juvenile were able to escape, but responders were told there was a woman still trapped inside.
Responders attempted to gain entry into the home, but could not due to intense heat and smoke. The woman’s body was found after the fire was brought under control.
The Kansas State Fire Marshal’s office is assisting in the investigation.
