WICHITA, Kan. — The Art & Awards Ceremony recognizes the personal and professional achievements of Kansans with disabilities and celebrates exceptional professionals from across the region who are committed to providing the best possible outcomes for the persons they serve. Each year, they honor recipients with artwork created by the persons served by our members. The art is used to honor the award recipients each year.
Over the summer, TECH submitted “June Boat,” a print that was painted by TECH Artist, Doug Hollingsworth and his piece was selected as one of the Art Honorees.
Doug was invited to attend the PowerUp! Conference in Wichita and was recognized for his beautiful piece of art. He also had the opportunity to meet the recipient of his art.
About TECH Artist, Doug Hollingsworth:
Doug has been painting with the TECH Art Program since 2017. His joy is contagious, and he has such a kind heart. Doug has true artistic talent, and he is always eager to learn and grow.
Fun fact: Doug loves to sing and dance as he paints.
