McPHERSON, Kan. — Even though polar winds and precipitation earlier in the morning knocked out the parade. McPherson County Toy Run organizers still had a lot of toys turned in at the American Legion, where chili feed and auction took place.
There were a couple of instances where items donated would be sold, just to see the successful bidder turn around and have the items told again.
A bicycle for instance would be sold four times by auctioneer Willie Crane before the 4th successful bidder donated it to the toy drive.
Toys collected during the toy run are given out through the McPherson County Christmas project.
