HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The City of Hutchinson is pleased to announce the appointment of J.K. Vann as the new Human Relations Officer. In this role, Mr. Vann will administer the Human Relations Ordinance, addressing anti-discrimination in housing, employment, and public accommodations. He will also implement and facilitate programs to foster harmonious relationships and belonging within the community.
J.K. Vann will play a crucial role in promoting an inclusive environment where all community members feel valued and heard. His work will focus on combating discrimination and ensuring equal opportunities for all residents. With a strong background in organizational management and leadership, Mr. Vann is well-equipped to lead efforts in creating a more diverse and welcoming Hutchinson.

Mr. Vann said, “I am honored to take on this role and serve the Hutchinson community. I am committed to fostering an environment where every individual feels valued and heard, and I look forward to collaborating with community leaders.
Mr. Vann brings over five years of experience in organizational management and leadership, with a background in accounting, administration, and personnel development. His professional journey includes roles at FedEx Ground and Olathe Health Professionals, where he developed a keen understanding of operational efficiency and employee engagement. Mr. Vann has served in several ministerial roles and is currently a pastor of Foundation of Life Ministries and is dedicated to his ongoing education in social work at Fort Hays State University. Mr. Vann’s first day will be June 4th, 2024.
