HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The City of Hutchinson Public Works Street Division will begin repair work at the intersection of 43rd Avenue and Monroe Street starting Monday, May 12, 2025. The project will require lane closures and traffic detours in the area.
To accommodate the repairs, the southbound and westbound lanes at the intersection will be closed. A “Road Closed to Thru Traffic” sign will be placed at the intersection of 56th and Monroe to deter through traffic from proceeding south. However, local traffic access will remain open for residents living along Monroe north of 43rd.
Detour Routes:
- Southbound Traffic Detour:
Traffic will be redirected east on 56th Avenue to Plum Street, then south on Plum to 43rd Avenue, and finally west on 43rd back to Monroe. - Westbound Traffic Detour:
Traffic will be directed south on Monroe to Coronado Drive, west on Coronado to Quivira Drive, and north on Quivira back to Monroe.
Drivers are encouraged to follow posted signs and use caution in the area while crews complete this necessary infrastructure work.
