HUTCHINSON, Kan. – [March 17, 2026]- The City of Hutchinson is inviting residents to get a behind-the-scenes look at how safe, reliable water services are delivered every day during a Water Utilities Open House on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
This free, come-and-go event offers a unique opportunity for community members to learn how water supports daily life, public health, and the future of Hutchinson.
Attendees will have the chance to take a guided tour of the Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Facility, where staff will walk visitors through the treatment process and explain how drinking water is cleaned and delivered to homes and businesses across the city.
In addition to the tour, guests can explore interactive stations and speak directly with staff about the full range of water utility services, including:
- Water treatment and distribution
- Wastewater treatment operations
- Stormwater management
- Infrastructure maintenance and upgrades
- Long-term planning to meet future water needs
City staff will be available throughout the evening to answer questions and share how the Utilities Department works to treat millions of gallons of water each day while maintaining high standards for safety and reliability.
The event will begin in the facility lobby, where staff will guide visitors through the tour and additional informational areas.
