HUTCHINSON, KAN. – Central Christian High School’s senior Nathan Reed is a semifinalist in the 2025 National Merit®
Scholarship competition. The National Merit Scholarship Program honors individual students who show exceptional academic ability.
Nathan has been active in football, golf, scholars bowl, choir, and student council. He has attended CCS for 12 years and is the son of Dr. Mark and
Mrs. Abby Reed.
Semifinalists represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors and include the highest scoring students in each state. A semifinalist must have an outstanding academic record throughout high school, be endorsed and recommended by a high school official, write an essay, and earn SAT® or ACT® scores that confirm the student’s earlier performance on the qualifying test.
More than 1.3 million juniors from about 21,000 high schools nationwide entered the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program last fall by taking the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), which served as an initial screen of program entrants.
