HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The City of Hutchinson proudly announces the appointment of Carissa Paxton as the new Housing Coordinator, effective April 22, 2024.
Carissa Paxton, a long-time resident of Hutchinson, Kansas, brings extensive experience and a strong commitment to community development to her new role. With a background in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from Hutchinson Community College, and ongoing studies in Human Resources Management, Carissa is well-prepared to lead Hutchinson’s housing initiatives.
Mary Grace Clements, Interim City Manager, expressed her enthusiasm for Carissa’s appointment, stating, “We are excited to welcome Carissa Paxton as our new Housing Coordinator. Her proven leadership and dedication to community service make her an ideal choice for this critical role. Carissa’s expertise will be instrumental in advancing our city’s housing goals.”
Prior to joining the Strategic Growth Department, Carissa served as a residential real estate agent at Reece Nichols of South Central Kansas and Youth Leadership Program Coordinator at Rise Up Reno Prevention Network. Her extensive background includes serving as a commissioner for the Hutchinson Housing Commission since January 2023, demonstrating her commitment to community development and housing initiatives.
Carissa’s appointment marks a significant step forward in Hutchinson’s efforts to enhance housing opportunities and strengthen neighborhoods. Her passion for community engagement and track record of success position her as a valuable asset to the Strategic Growth Department.
