McPHERSON, Kan. — There will be no school at McPherson High School Tuesday due to an air conditioning equipment failure.
USD 418 said in a note sent to parents late Monday afternoon the motor in the chiller fan failed early Monday morning leaving 80 percent of the building without air conditioning. Because of the extreme heat in the forecast combined with lack of air conditioning the decision was made to call off classes.
MHS students attending college classes or other activities off-campus including internships should still plan to report for those activities at their scheduled time. MHS certified staff will be taking part in a professional development activity at the Community Building Tuesday.
The necessary parts to make repairs have been located are being shipped to MHS overnight. Hopes are to have repairs completed Tuesday.
