HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hutchinson today named Nicolas Caton as its new teen site director, replacing Tabetha Gray as the Club’s director of the program excellence.
In his new role, Caton will be responsible for the daily operation and supervision of the Shadduck Park Teen Center.
According to Boys & Girls Clubs of Hutchinson, Caton joined the Club in 2023 and has run the Club’s workforce programs for much of that time.
The Club shared that under Caton’s leadership, the work-based learning program providing teens first-time work experience has grown both in numbers and quality. Each teen participant in this summer’s program applied, interviewed with Caton, interviewed again at a job fair and received in-depth training on youth worker rights.
Caton told the Club he has seen the impact the Club has had on many teens and “the potential for many more.”
“I believe the Club is well-positioned to continue making a meaningful impact on the lives of teens in our community, and I am eager to contribute to its continued growth and success,” Caton said in the Club’s announcement.
Caton served in two branches of the armed services before settling in Hutchinson. He served as a U.S. Marine Corps Corporal and a U.S. Army Sergeant. He gained experience in management, budgeting and safety through those roles.
Caton recently completed his associate’s degree in business administration at Hutchinson Community College.
“Nick has shown a great deal of leadership in the realm of workforce development,” Boys & Girls Clubs of Hutchinson Chief Executive Officer Lance Patterson said. “He is well respected by the teens, Visions Leaders and our community. We look forward to him building on his success in his new role as teen site director.”
