INMAN, Kan. — The man who allegedly fired shots at two homes and a vehicle last Wednesday in Inman made appearances Friday in McPherson County District Court in four separate cases.

During a first appearance before Magistrate Judge Amanda Faber on three of those cases, bonds for Benjamin Schwindt were increased to a total of $200,000, $150,000 from Wednesday’s incident where he’s charged with criminal damage and various weapons charges, and $25,000 each on newly filed cases involving a second criminal damage to property incident from early November and domestic battery and violation of a protection from abuse order in a December 15th incident.

An earlier bond in a domestic battery case in October from which the protection order was issued was revoked and a new $25,000 bond issued.

All bonds, if posted, will require bond supervision including electronic and SCRAM monitoring and no contact with any victims or endorsed witnesses, and a special condition to not being in possession of or being in a residence with firearms, axes or swords.

Schwindt, who has retained private counsel, will have hearings via Zoom on Jan. 2; arraignments on the domestic battery cases and non-evidentiary preliminary hearings on the two criminal damage cases which are both felonies.
