Home sales in the area served by Prairie Land Realtor’s Mid-Kansas Multiple listing service in September were down 14.5 percent from the same month a year ago. 112 homes sold region-wide last month, compared to 131 in September 2024.
The median sales price region-wide at $166,500 was up by just under one percent, with homes sold in September typically on the market for 12 days and bringing 99.5 percent of list prices.
As of Sept. 30, there were 293 active listings, one more than a year ago, with a median list price of $202,500. The total number of contracts written last month was 117 contracts, down four from last year, and as of the end of the month 146 contracts were pending.
56 homes sold in Reno County during September, just slightly from last year, with the median sale price of $147,500 down 15.7 percent. There were 101 active listings in Reno County at month’s end, or a 1.7-month supply.
In the McPherson area, which also includes MLS sales in Marion County, 23 homes sold in September, down 37.8 percent from a year ago, with the median sale price of $239,000 up 57.2 percent. They had 71 active listings as of Sept. 30, or a 2.2-month supply.
Eight homes sold in Prairie Land’s Pratt area listing which also includes Barber County sales, down 46.7 percent with the median sales price of $162,500, up 25 percent from last year.
