The Pretty Prairie girls placed third at the the Wheat State League/Heart of the Plains League cross country meet Thursday on the Bethel College track in North Newton.
Pretty Prairie’s Amity White won the WSL/HOPL varsity girls 5K race with a time of 21 minutes, 9.78 seconds.
Pratt-Skyline won the girls title with 14 points, followed by Elyria Christian 16, Pretty Prairie 17 and Goessel 31.
Pretty Prairie’s Ava White placed ninth with a time of 23:45.44; followed by teammate Brennan Schrag, 10th, 24:45.75; Ava Goering, 16th, 27:02.58; and Shantell Willis, 20th, 29:14.79
Skyline claimed the boys team title with 11 points, followed by Goessel 21, Solomon 22, Elyria Christian 43, Cunningham 50, Canton-Galva 62 and Herington 67.
Burrton’s Isaac Jones finished eighth in the 5K boys race with a time of 18:14.55. Ryker Barnes placed 32nd with a time of 21:14.15.
Pretty Prairie’s Zac England placed 26th in 20:26.64, followed by Eli Young, 28th, 20:47.64; and Lucas Miller, 31st, 21:12.
Fairfield’s Thad Brown placed 52nd with a time of 25:33.71.
