TORNONTO, Kan. — A barn fire last Thursday evening on the north edge of Toronto is getting a little more than the usual attention, due to the initial response.
As Woodson County Emergency Management relates it, the first crew to arrive on the scene was an all-female crew, what they described as “talkin’ tough, no nonsense, drag a hose through a cow pasture Toronto proud women.”
The barn was beyond saving when they got there, so they went into a defensive mode and stopped it from spreading to nearby buildings or vegetation.
