Ad Astra Radio Awarded Horizon Business Award at Annual Chamber Meeting

McPHERSON, Kan.  — Ad Astra Radio is honored to have been awarded the Horizon Business Award at the Annual Chamber Meeting on Nov. 8, 2023. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the McPherson Chamber of Commerce, our clients, and the wonderful people of McPherson for their ongoing support and collaboration.

The Horizon Business Award honors a new chamber member (within the last 3 years) who becomes involved in Chamber activities, committees, and/or contributes time and talent to the Chamber to improve the greater community.

We are proud to be a part of the McPherson community, and this award further strengthens our commitment to contributing positively to its growth and prosperity.

We also offer our congratulations to the other recipients honored at the meeting including recipient of the 2023 President’s Award, Dan Hervey, who was selected by the McPherson Chamber of Commerce Past Presidents. Hervey has been a member of the Chamber since 1977 and still chairs the Civic Awareness Committee. He founded the Big Brothers organization in town, has been a longtime active member of the McPherson American Legion, and is known for many other organizations as well.

The Emerging Leader Award recipient was Logan JP Schrag of Peoples Financial. Schrag was nominated based on several criteria, including that he is an up-and-coming business and community leader, a rising star and inspiration to others. Schrag has called a number of home McPherson Bullpup games for Ad Astra Radio last year and has been an active member in United Way of McPherson County as well.

The Cook’s Nook received the Entrepreneur Business Award, which spotlights an innovative and forward-thinking business that is growth-oriented, adaptive to change, exhibits good customer service and client relations, motivated to reach new markets, and overall excellence.

Farmers Alliance was the recipient of the Community Builder Award, which recognizes a longstanding business or organization who has taken an active role in presenting a positive image of McPherson.

The Chamber Annual Meeting also celebrated the leadership of the Chamber by recognizing the 2023/2024 Chamber Board, and board members who completed their terms in August. Tiffani Floyd, 2022-2023 Chamber President received her Chamber’s Past President’s Plaque yesterday as well. The current Chamber President, Chad Hitt presented the plaque to her.
