LINDSBORG, Kan. — The 2023 Svensk Hyllningsfest in Lindsborg is being called a huge success.
Mayor Clark Shultz extended thanks to city staff and everyone else who made it possible during Monday’s Lindsborg City Council meeting. Shultz said he talked to a lot of people around the community during the weekend and heard many positive comments about this year’s Hyllningsfest.
Some residents observed that this may have been one of the biggest Hyllningsfest celebrations ever.
Later in the meeting, following a presentation on changes to plans for an EPIC grant announced earlier this year, the Council approved an expenditure not to exceed $10,000 to Mayer Specialty Services for an annual sewer maintenance project involving cleaning of sewer lines.
Public Works Director Chris Lindholm said this project has been very productive in preventing sewer backups in the city. Lindholm said there are some areas that tend to have more problems than others, and this work has done a lot to alleviate issues.
