Beth Lavelle Sewing Bolton, 94, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away October 21, 2026, at Sandstone Heights Nursing Home, Little River, Kansas. She was born July 5, 1932, in Lyons, the daughter of Jesse and Minta (Plank) Dressel. Beth was a lifelong Lyons resident. She graduated from Lyons High School, with the class of 1950. Beth worked at Lyons High School as the head cook for many years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, and Coronado Country Chapter of Sweet Adelines. Beth enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, playing Bridge and card games. On April 22, 1951, Beth married Howard Sewing. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1985. On February 7, 1986, Beth married Kenneth Bolton. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2020. She is also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Rowena McCoy. Beth is survived by her four daughters, Debbie Hinson and husband Jerry of Goddard, KS, Rhonda Jones of Rockwell, TX, LuAnn McElwain and husband Mike of McPherson, KS, and Jayne Compton and husband William of Rockwell, TX; brother, Dale Dressel and wife Rosie of Lyons, KS; sister, Janice Leicht of Friscoe, TX; twelve grandchildren, Luke McElwain (Shayna), Andrea McElwain, Kristoffer Hinson (Amanda) Ulrika Hinson, Erik Hinson (Ruth) Niklas Hinson (Inke), Jesseca Donnelly (Joe), Tyler Jones, Rebekah Hooks, Emily Compton, Hayden Compton (Taylor), and Noah Compton; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M., Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with family present. Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, November 2, 2026, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Lyons, with Pastor Brian Leicht officiating. Burial will follow at Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Ebenezer United Methodist Church in care of Birzer Funeral Home.
