The Buhler High School girls golf team posted a 349 score to place first in the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Division 3 Tournament Tuesday at the par-70 5,101-yard Wellington Golf Club by one stroke over Augusta.
Augusta placed second with a 350 team score, followed by McPherson 373 and Towanda-Circle 466.
Mulvane and Winfield did not have enough players to field a full team. The top 12 players earned medals.
Buhler’s Anika Paulsrud captured first-place AVCTL 3 individual medalist honors with a 7-over-par 77.
McPherson’s Lleyton Kuhn placed second with an 82 and Augusta’s Edyn Mettling placed third with an 84.
Buhler’s Addison Specht placed fourth with an 86. Teammates Paityn Weber, Macy Miller and Ellie Goering placed ninth, 10th and 11th with 92, 94 and 95. Buhler’s Payton Polk finished 17th with a 112 score.
Augusta’s Gabby Rettig placed fifth with an 87. McPherson’s Pera Bauer and Augusta’s Kaylee Cox tied for sixth with 88s. Augusta’s Ellasyn Mettling placed eighth with a 91 and Rose Marie Fleming was 12th with a 97.
Augusta’s Audrey Ponce placed 16th with a 109 score.
McPherson’s Ari Prose, Addisen French and Alexa Million placed 13th, 14th and 15th at 101, 102 and 105. Teammate Abby Schieferecke tied for 18th at 113.
The Wellington High School girls golf team won the AVCTL Division 4 Tournament Tuesday at the Wellington Golf Club.
Wichita Collegiate placed second with a 400 score, followed by Rose Hill 404 and Andale 472.
The top 12 players earned medals. Clearwater did not field enough players to post a team score.
Wellington placed six players in the top 12, led by individual medalist Brittin Lawrence with a 6-over-par 76.
Andale’s top golfers were Bailey Mertes, 15th place, 109; Mikalah Chavez, 16th, 114; Emily Waite, 23rd, 121; Peyton Jantz, 24th, 128; amd Morgan Helene, 25th, 150.
Andale, Buhler, Towanda-Circle and McPherson will compete in the Kansas Class 4A sub-state Monday at Hutchinson’s Carey Park Golf Course.
Wellington, Augusta, Clearwater, Mulvane and Rose Hill will compete in the Kansas Class 4A sub-state Monday at the Wellington Golf Course.
Wichita Collegiate competes in the Kansas Class 3-1A sub-state tournament Monday and Tuesday at Cheney’s Cherry Oaks Golf Course.
The Kansas Class 4A state girls golf tournament will be played Oct. 19-20 at McPherson’s Turkey Creek Golf Course.
The Kansas Class 3-1A girls state tournament is Oct. 19-20 at Wichita Tallgrass Golf Club.
