The Hesston Swathers used a 27-point first quarter en route to a 47-0 over the Smoky Valley Vikings in Class 3A district play.
Hesston quarterback Jerrick Humphreys accounted for six touchdowns in the first half, including four passing touchdowns, three to fellow senior Gavin Larson, and two rushing touchdowns as the Swathers got out of the gates early and often.
The Smoky Valley defense held Hesston scoreless in the second half, but the offense struggled to move the ball against the Hesston defense and was unable to find the end zone.
Hesston moved to 2-0 in district play and 5-0 overall. The Vikings dropped to 0-2 in districts and 3-2 overall. Next up for Smoky Valley will be Chapman at home next week for senior night.
