Red Devils Take Second in Magnolia Series Debut

Over the past weekend, the ACC Shotgun Sports team traveled to Polecat Creek Shotgun Park in Harrisonville, MO. The Red Devils made their Magnolia Series debut with multiple athletes having outstanding performances.

The Red Devils were able to secure a 2nd place team finish with an overall score of 1256/1500.

Jozie Stagg leads the Red Devils with a score of 264/300 taking 1st place female in Sporting Clays, 2nd place female in American Skeet, 2nd place female in American Trap, and  2nd place female overall.

 “I am overjoyed with the performance from one of our sophomore leaders, she has been working diligently to improve her sporting and skeet scores. I am excited to see the continued improvements she has made as she prepares for the next tournament.”

Team Captain Weston Cleaver scored a 261/300 taking 3rd place men’s American Skeet with an honorable score of 96/100. Cleaver also made an expectational run for top male sporting score but fell short by 4 targets.

“Overall, his performance did not go unnoticed; he stayed steady and focused the entire competition and kept the pressure on for his competitors!”

Sophomore Shaun Mclaughlin shot a career high score of 93/100 in American Trap placing in the top 10. Freshman Trent Rymer posted a 90/100 in American Trap and an 81/100 in American Skeet helping his team secure a 2nd place finish. Freshman Hunter Bussard posted a personal best score of an 86/100 in American Trap and an 82/100 in American Skeet. Sophomore Sheldon Weber also posted a personal best in American Trap with a score of 80/100.

In the Red Devils 2nd season as a program our athletes have been putting up remarkable scores. They have represented Allen at the highest level earning multiple complements from spectators, parents, range officials, and competitors.

The Red Devils are back to work training and preparing for the upcoming ACUI Regional tournament at the World Shooting Complex in Sparta, IL.
