Bulldogs Dominate Bethany 10-0 behind Smith’s Hat Trick

Lindsborg, Kansas – The McPherson Bulldogs Women’s Soccer team dominated on the road in Lindsborg with a big win over Bethany College. The Bulldogs scored 10 goals on the night, with Jordyn Smith recording a hat trick for McPherson.

How it Happened
Jordyn Smith scored the first goal of the night just three minutes into the game with an assist from Gracie Speltz. The Bulldogs then scored back-to-back goals in the 24th and 25th minutes, with Speltz scoring a goal of her own first with an assist from Jessica Aldrich, followed by Smith’s second goal of the night. In the 29th minute, Madilyn Reser found the back of the net off a pass from Brianna Finch to take a 4-0 lead before halftime.

McPherson opened the second half with three goals in the first five minutes. Aldrich scored two goals in a row in the 47th and 48th minute, with the second goal being assisted by Smith. In the 50th minute, Arianna Diaz found the back of the net to make the score 7-0. Smith scored her third goal of the night in the 58th minute, finding the back of the net after a pass from Emma Hylton. Reser scored her second goal of the night in the 74th minute. McPherson’s 10th goal was scored by Alexis Lutz with an assist from Kennedy Halter in the 87th minute.

The Bulldogs fired off 26 shots with 18 on goal, while McPherson’s defense held the Swedes to only three shots, with all three being on frame. Emily Singletary had two saves while Elizabeth Scheuerman had one save.
