Central Christian College of Kansas will break ground on a new manufacturing training center that will house the Bradbury School of Manufacturing and Innovation (BSMI). Made possible through significant support from the Bradbury Family Foundation, the privately funded project is designed to expand manufacturing education and workforce training opportunities for students, area schools and regional employers.
According to CCCK, the new training center will be designed to mirror the technology and working environment of modern manufacturing. Students will train with machining, CNC, CAD/CAM, robotics and automation equipment while developing the technical and professional skills needed by regional employers.
Manufacturing is a major economic driver in McPherson and throughout central Kansas. In McPherson County alone, manufacturing accounts for more than one-quarter of private sector employment, creating an ongoing need for a strong pipeline of skilled workers.
BSMI welcomed its first students this fall and offers industry-recognized certifications and stackable credentials leading to an Associate of Applied Science or Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Technology. Central is also developing opportunities for area schools, dual-credit students, adult learners and incumbent workers.
Groundbreaking ceremony for the innovation training center will take place this Friday, October 2nd at noon on the CCC campus located at 1200 South Main Street.
The facility is scheduled for completion in spring 2027, with students entering the new training center in fall 2027.
