BUHLER, Kan. – The McPherson volleyball team had another night of tough competition in the AVCTL on Tuesday. They came away with two wins, beating one team for the first time in three tries and adding a straight set win over their rival.
The Bullpups opened with Circle, a team they had lost to twice over the past week. The third time was the charm as McPherson topped the Thunderbirds in straight sets 25-21, 25-17. Next up was a match against Buhler. It was also the third time the Bullpups faced the Crusaders, but they are now 3-0 against the Crusaders this season after a 25-21, 25-14 on Tuesday night.
Piper Solofra had a strong night for the Bullpups, leading the team with 17 kills over the two matches. Harper Rierson and Kennedy Bonham each added 12 kills. Elles Pavlovich led the team with eight service aces and 13 digs on the night. Setter Rylie Whitfield had 45 assists leading the McPherson offense.
McPherson is now 13-6 on the season and 5-1 in AVCTL Division III matches. Next up, they’ll host a triangular with Clearwater and Mulvane on Tuesday, September 29.
