In a close contest in Lindsborg, Smoky Valley prevailed 12-6 after spotting Nickerson an early lead when the Panthers took the opening kick on a 12-play, 67-yard drive that ended with Connor White’s 8-yard touchdown run. The kick was wide for a 6-0 Nickerson lead.

Nickerson punted to the Smoky Valley 5-yard line early in the second quarter, but the Vikes put a 9-play, 95-yard drive, punctuated by a Crew Elliott touchdown from 6-yards out.

The PAT run failed.

After Eli Lambert recovered a Nickerson fumble on their second play of the next drive, it took Smoky Valley six plays, and a 17-yard Mason Riedel TD run to take a 12-6 lead after the PAT run was short.

The teams exchanged the ball several times before Nickerson’s 13-play drive to the Smoky Valley 13-yard line ended with a Viking interception by Hunter Koehn, his third of the season. The Vikings ran out the clock for the win.
