Hillsboro, Kansas – The McPherson Bulldogs Men’s Soccer team picked up their second win of the season with a 4-0 win over Tabor on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs dominated from the start, scoring all four of their goals in the first half. McPherson is now 15-5-2 all-time against Tabor.

How it Happened
The Bulldogs came out hot, scoring all four of their goals in the first half, with their first goal coming just seven minutes into the game. Nathan Van Wyck received a pass from down the field, with his initial shot saved and deflected to Eric Mendoza. Mendoza sent a header off the crossbar, where it fell back to Van Wyck, who headed it into the net for the opening goal. McPherson’s second goal was scored in the 16th minute by Tyler Beckford just outside the penalty box. In the 35th minute, Van Wyck scored a second goal, dribbling through the box and using his footwork to beat two defenders before finding the back of the net. The Bulldogs’ fourth goal of the match was a pass into the box originally meant for Tijs Stumphius, but his shot was saved and deflected right to the feet of Elliot Powrie who scored the goal.
Goalkeeper Alvaro Marchal had three saves on the night, picking up his second shutout of the season. The Bulldogs out-shot the Bluejays 15-8.
