In a Kansas Eight-Man II football game Friday night at Claflin, the Central Plains Oilers fought off the Ell-Saline Cardinals 24-22.

“Both teams battled extremely hard,” said Central Plains football coach J.D. Johnson. “We were very fortunate to come away with a win after many chances to put points on the board were squandered.

“We must get better and continue to improve at executing at times in the red zone. Always thankful to come away with a win but we have to keep working and improving.”
