The City of Ottawa is pleased to announce that the Budweiser Clydesdales will visit Ottawa on Thursday, September 10 around 10:00 a.m. The event will start at Price Chopper, 120 E. 19th St, and travel north on Main Street through downtown Ottawa. Community members are welcome to watch Clydesdales staff prepare and hitch the horses and wagon before they depart the Price Chopper parking lot at 10:30 AM. Unloading and hitching the horses will take approximately two hours. The escort down Main Street will be closer to 12:00 p.m. (Noon) or after. With a chance of rain, the event could be delayed slightly. If it is raining, the horses and wagon are unable to be outside.

The Clydesdales are hosted by O’Malley Beverage in Lawrence, KS. O’Malley Beverage has hosted the Clydesdales in Lawrence numerous times, including this year. Anheuser-Busch awards top distributers in the nation by sending the Budweiser Clydesdales to visit the host city of the business. O’Malley Beverage works closely with several local businesses in the community. O’Malley Beverage extended the offer to allow Ottawa to host the Clydesdales, while they are visiting nearby in Lawrence.

The procession will travel north on Main Street. Drivers and pedestrians should use caution as police and fire escort guides the procession through downtown Ottawa. Temporary intersection closures may occur along the route. Community members are encouraged to watch from the sidewalks along the Main Street corridor and remain out of the roadway.

In 2026, Budweiser celebrates its 150th Anniversary. The Budweiser Clydesdales serve as the public face and traveling ambassadors for “Folds of Honor,” a nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen or disabled United States Military Service members and First Responders. As America celebrates its 250th Anniversary, Folds of Honor has partnered closely with America250 to help honor and commemorate the milestone. This also coincides with the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 Remembrance. We are fortunate to have the Clydesdales to help celebrate the events.

Motorists may also see a police escort accompanying the semitrailers that transport the Clydesdales as they enter or leave Ottawa between 10:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
