Louisville University’s Tre Richardson broke loose for a 30-yard touchdown run and caught a 62-yard TD pass in a 41-38 loss to Mississippi (Ole Miss) Saturday at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn.
Louisville erased a late 14-point deficit to tie the game at 38-38 with under 2 minutes remaining.
Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss drove the Rebels into field goal range, allowing kicker Lucas Carneiro to drill a walk-off 48-yard field goal as time expired.
Richardson caught 4 passes for 83 yards in addition to the 30-yard TD run.
Richardson, who attended Topeka Highland Park High School and played college football Hutchinson Community College, Washburn University and Vanderbilt University before arriving at Louisville this season.
At Hutchinson Community College in 2023, Richardson began his college career as a freshman star for the Hutchinson Blue Dragons, earning first-team NJCAA All-American honors as a return specialist with 8 total touchdowns and 1,332 all-purpose yards.
Richardson transferred to the Washburn Ichabods for the 2024 season as a dual-sport athlete in football and track. He posted 52 receptions for 983 yards and 11 touchdowns while earning first-team all-conference recognition.
In 2025 at Vanderbilt, Richardson had 46 receptions for 806 yards and seven touchdowns. He added 427 yards as a kickoff returner.
