Search and rescue teams were deployed over the weekend to find a man who was reportedly out scouting for hunting grounds in Ellsworth County.
According to the Saline County Sheriffs Mounted Patrol and Rescue Squad, the body of a 62-year-old man from Great Bend was found on Saturday. Cause of Death is undetermined, however, no foul play is suspected at this time.
The exhaustive search utilizing drones, tracking dogs, and electronic cellular tracking technology. The Ellsworth County Coroner’s Office, along with the Ellsworth County Sheriff’s Office are in charge of this investigation.
Authorities say First Responders from the US Army Corp of Engineers, Game Wardens with the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, Marquette, Ellsworth, and Kanopolis Fire Departments, Saline County Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol and Rescue Squad, along with Ellsworth County Emergency Management, Sheriff’s Deputies and numerous horseback mounted area Ranchers, assisted in the search.
The Mounted Patrol used Facebook to release the story and thanked the Great Bend Police Department also for assisting with this case. The man’s name was not released.
