A murder suspect was arrested in Salina and transported back to Great Bend to face serious charges.
Great Bend police are investigating a deadly shooting after officers were called to a home on Lakin Avenue early Saturday morning.
Police say they were dispatched around 12:30 after a 911 hang-up call and found a woman dead in the backyard from an apparent gunshot wound. The suspect, 19-year-old Keagan Martens, reportedly fled the scene but was later arrested in Salina.
He remains in the Barton County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
