The Haven Wildcats kicked off the 2026 high school football season with a 46-7 victory over Nickerson Friday night at Nickerson.
Haven led 14-0 after one quarter.
Haven scored on a 25-yard pass play to extended its lead to 21-0. The Wildcats kicked a field goal as time expired in the first half and led at halftime 24-0.
In the third quarter, Haven added two touchdowns to make the score 39-0. Nickerson got on the scoreboard on a 65-yard TD pass to Chase Welch to end the third quarter at 39-7.
Haven hosts Pratt next Friday. Nickerson plays a road game at Halstead.
The Nickerson and Haven junior varsity football teams square off at 6 p.m. Monday at Haven.
