KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Sterling defeated Calvary 3-0 on Saturday, Aug. 29 winning by set scores of 25-11, 25-17 and 25-9. As a team, Sterling set a season-high hitting percentage of .324 recording 47 kills while holding Calvary to a -.011 hitting percentage.
Abigail Howard finished with 13 kills, hit .385 and recorded one block assist. Howard logged a season high of 13 kills. Keala Wilson Brown posted 18 assists, five kills and four digs through two sets. Madison Lundeen recorded eight kills while hitting .444 and added four digs. Lundeen also achieved a season-high hitting percentage of .444. Kaleigh Bell collected nine digs and tallied one service ace.
Sterling (5-0) travels to face Haskell (1-7) and Cottey (3-2) on Friday, Sept. 4, at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. at the Haskell Invitational in Lawrence, Kan.
