Hutchinson, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Cross Country team opened their season in Hutchinson, Kan. competing in the 2026 Terry Masterson Twilight Classic. The race was held at the Fun Valley Sport Complex. The women’s course was three miles while the men had a four-mile course. This meet was originally scheduled for Friday, August 28, but was moved up a day due to scheduling conflicts.
Women
Senior Logan Pevehouse returned to her ways leading the Swedes with a time of 22:15.92 for a 27th place finish. Isabelle Taillon, a freshman, ran in her first collegiate meet finishing with a time of 24:00.88 to place 34th. Katherine Stewart wasn’t far behind finishing 35th setting her course-best time of 24:15.04. Lydia Escalante came in with a time of 25:44.30 for a 37th place finish.
Men
Junior Braeden Obley led the Swedes placing 14th with a time of 22:43.04. Obley had the fourth-best finish out of all NAIA competitors and set his course-best time. Isaac Levario, a freshman, placed 43rd with a time of 24:58.47 in his first collegiate meet. Jaden King rounded out the Swedes runners with his course-best time of 26:28.13 for a 48th place finish.

The Swedes will two weeks to prepared for their next competition, the Ollie Isom Invitational. The meet will be hosted by Butler Community College at the El Dorado Legion Disc Golf Course in El Dorado, Kan. on Friday, September 11, beginning at 10:00 AM for the women and 10:45 AM for the men.
