The death of an inmate serving a life sentence at the El Dorado Correctional Facility is under investigation.
The Kansas Department of Corrections reports 39-year-old Andrew Ellmaker, was found unresponsive in his cell Tuesday.
Staff members and paramedics administered life-saving measures but were unable to revive him. The cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy.
Ellmaker was convicted in the 2004 stabbing death of of his social worker, Teri Zenner.
