Iola High School will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 21 for the newly turfed Municipal Stadium field at Riverside Park.
The ceremony will be followed by the Blue and Gold Scrimmage, with the IHS cross country team beginning a run at 6:45 p.m. and the football team taking the field for its first scrimmage at 7 p.m.
The new field and drainage improvements are part of a $1.5 million project. Fans encouraged to bring sports drinks or water to support Iola High School athletic programs.
