HILLSBORO, Kan. – Tabor College Director of Soccer Thomas Gaskell enters his first season at the helm of the Bluejay Men’s Soccer program and looks to build on the team’s success from a season ago.
The 2025 campaign saw the Bluejays finish with a 9-7-3 record while making their first trip to the KCAC Men’s Soccer Tournament since the 2023 season.
Pol Fernandez looks to make a return to the pitch after a massive 2025 season, where he earned KCAC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors, leading the team in scoring with seven total goals. In addition to Fernandez, other key returners include the likes of Ignacio Fabeiro, who has a wealth of experience under his belt in goal, as well as Michael Castillo Jimenez, a talented sophomore forward who cut his teeth on the developmental side a year ago.
While Gaskell has pieces returning from last year’s squad, he has also worked to bring in a plethora of solid new additions including, Yuri Neeve, a transfer from NCAA Division II Malone University where he gained experience on the developmental side, as well as a pair of freshmen in Gael Zapeda and Eduardo Henrique-Goncalves.
The Bluejays will maintain their history of scheduling strong opponents as they will face Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) opponents in Hastings and Mount Marty, as well as Mid-America Christian from the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC), and local rival Hesston.

Coach Gaskell and the Bluejays officially open the 2026 campaign on Wednesday, August 26th as they play host to Mid-America Christian. Kickoff is set for 5:30pm.
