A project to improve the guardrail and a culvert on K-52 in Mound City will begin Wednesday, Aug. 5, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
The project will upgrade the guardrail at the site and improve and extend the box culvert, which was installed in 1931. The project is on K-52 northeast of Second Street and is on the Little Sugar Creek drainage.
Most of the work will be on the shoulder and should not impact traffic, but flaggers will guide traffic through the work zone when necessary. Conditions permitting, the project should be done by late September.
WCI Inc., of Paola, has the $168,405 contract.
