Former Mayor Joel Wicoff Returns to Iola City Council

A familiar face is returning to the Iola City Council. Former Mayor Joel Wicoff was appointed Monday to fill the vacant Ward 2 seat left by Max Grundy, who moved away from Iola earlier this summer. Wicoff, who has previously served twice on the council and two terms as mayor, was chosen over fellow Ward 2 resident Chi Wiggin in a 4-3 vote. He says he’s ready to help make Iola the best it can be.
