University of Arkansas baseball offensive analyst and former catcher Hudson Polk has been hired as an assistant coach at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas.
The Razorbacks made the announcement on Thursday.
Polk, 25, will serve as the hitting coach and recruiting coordinator for the Blue Dragons.
That is a similar title once held by Razorback assistant coach Nate Thompson from 2011-14. Thompson has worked closely with Polk during his time at Arkansas.
“Thank you to everyone who made Fayetteville so special,” Polk wrote on social media Thursday. “I was blessed to be a part of it.”
As a player, Polk transferred to Arkansas from Oklahoma prior to the 2023 season. He played in 35 games and started 24 during his junior and senior seasons with the Razorbacks in 2023-24 and recorded 3 home runs and 12 RBI.
During a news conference prior to Polk’s senior season, Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn predicted Polk would go into coaching.
“We all feel like one day he’s going to coach at a high level and for a long time if that’s what he wants to do,” Van Horn said in January 2024.
Polk served as a student assistant coach in 2025 and held the title of offensive analyst this year for the Razorbacks.
He served as the team’s first base coach the past two seasons.
