Haven, Halstead, Hesston and Southeast of Saline were well-represented on the Sports in Kansas Class 3A state softball team, which was released on Wednesday.
Haven High School seniors Morgan O’Neal, Mayzie Warden and Avery Brawner were named to the First Team along with Southeast of Saline’s Karlee Zurfluh (junior), Reese Heinrich (sophomore) and Kyla Samuelson (sophomore).
Named to the Second Team were Haven freshman Paige O’Neal, Southeast of Saline’s Riley Donnelly (senior) and Ashley Whelchel (junior), Halstead junior Onnyka Nedich, Kingman junior Taylor Credick, Cheney junior Kendyll Walker and Hesston senior Emma Gudeman.
Other area softball players were honorable mention selections.
Silver Lake’s Kailyn Hanni was named Sports in Kansas 3AS Player of the Year. Oskaloosa’s Lily Pullen was Pitcherof the Year. Southeast of Saline’s Tyler Smith and Silver Lake’s Nick Hamilton were named Co-Coaches of the Year.
