Each month, Ad Astra Radio recognizes a girls and boys Team of the Month, selected from area high schools. The Girls Team of the Month for May goes to the McPherson Girls Soccer Team.
The month: The Bullpups had an outstanding May, posting a 4-1-1 record and winning another regional championship. A May 5 6-0 win at Buhler featured one of the Bullpups’ best displays of the season. The Bullpups also tied a talented Wichita Trinity team 0-0, and beat Wichita Classical twice. The 7-0 win over Classical secured a Class 4-3-2-1A regional championship and berth in the quarterfinals, where McPherson fell 2-1 in a great game to Rose Hill. Coach Chris Adrian praised seniors Brodie Kuhn, Grace Prescott, Addison Shaft and Becca Lulloff for strong finishes to their high school careers and for their leadership throughout the season.
