The Mulvane High School baseball team, the Kansas Class 4A state champions, dominated the Sports in Kansas Class 4A All-State Team released on Friday.
Mulvane captured the Kansas Class 4A State title with a 9-4 victory over Topeka Hayden and posted a 28-1 record.
The Wildcats won their second state title in program history exactly 40 years after their first championship in 1986.
Mulvane’s Parker Chubb is the 4A Player of the Year, Grey Sanders is the 4A Pitcher of the Year and Steve Nelson is the 4A Coach of the Year.
Chubb and Sanders were joined on the First Team by Mulvane teammates Hagen Watkins and Manny Myers. Brody Clasen, Boone Richard and Grady Myers made the Second Team.
McPherson placed Cade Strathman and Carter Bengston on the First Team and Cru Buchman on the Second Team.
Buhler’s Lane Burkhart and Asher McConnaughy received honorable mention recognition. The rest of the honorable mention selections are in the graphic.
