Storm Information for Salina Area

The Kansas Department of Transportation reports numerous signs were either damaged or missing after Monday night’s storm. This mostly impacted Ellsworth, Lincoln, Ottawa and Saline Counties. While KDOT crews are working to repair or replace the signs, they advise this could take time as many signs will need to be orders, produced and delivered.

The Salina Salvation Army along with the city of Salina and Tony’s Pizza Event Center are offering a free drive-thru lunch starting at 1 this afternoon at the South Circle Drive at Tony’s Pizza Events Center, where they will provide one lunch box with a hamburger mac and cheese, and chips. One box will be given for each person in your vehicle, none extra will be given to take.

Saline County Emergency Management is coordinating volunteer chainsaw crews to help residents cut and move limbs or downed trees to the curb for pickup. You can request help by calling 785-833-7597 or 785-833-7593. This assistance is being provided as crews are available.

The Saline County Health Department at 125 West Elm in Salina has opened their lobby as a cooling center and a place to charge medical devices. It will be open until 7 this evening, and if you have questions call 785-826-6600. If you need assistance wit an oxygen concentrator or other medical device during he power outage, call 785-826-6606 for help finding a solution.
