Hutchinson Trinity Catholic High School’s Drew Dechant was named Pitcher of the Year in Class 2A-1A by the Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches and leads the Class 2A-1A First Team.
The KABC released its All-State Baseball Teams for Classes 2-1A, 3A, 4A, 5A and 6A on Tuesday.
Thomas More Prep-Marian’s Ty Schmeidler was named Player of the Year in Class 2-1A and Rossville’s Kenny Swart was named 2A-1A Coach of the Year.
Trinity Catholic’s Kaid McElgunn was named First Team outfielder and Sam Vogel was named First Team designated hitter.
TMP catcher Caden Dinkel made the First Team.
Area players on the Second Team were Little River’s Camden Strecker, pitcher; Moundridge’s Clay Wilson, pitcher; TMP’s Logan Baalman, middle infielder; Inman’s Kirby McLellan, outfield; Moundridge’s Logan Greenwalt, outfield; TMP’s Grant Nehls, utility; and Moundridge’s Layton Schmidt, designated hitter.
Moundridge first baseman Finn Lintecum was named honorable mention.
