Led by Olakanmi Olagoke, MD, a cardiac electrophysiologist, the clinic provides specialized medical consultation for heart rhythm disorders, or arrhythmias, caused by issues with the heart’s electrical system. Dr. Olagoke focuses on listening to each patient’s unique needs to develop individualized plans for the diagnosis, consultation and follow-up of various cardiac conditions.

Dr. Olagoke and his clinical team will provide local families with specialized heart care, focusing on conditions such as:

  • Atrial fibrillation (AFib)
  • Tachycardia (fast heart rate)
  • Bradycardia (slow heart rate)
  • Syncope (fainting)

While highly specialized EP procedures to treat these conditions will continue to be performed at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, the new clinic in Hutchinson will allow patients to manage their ongoing care and consultations locally.

“Effective management of heart rhythm disorders relies on early diagnosis and consistent follow-up,” said Dr. Olagoke. “By bringing these specialized consultation services to Hutchinson, we can more effectively manage patients’ cardiac conditions and provide individualized support closer to home.”

“Expanding access to specialized cardiac care is a significant step forward for the health of our community,” said Benjamin Anderson, President and CEO of Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. “By partnering with Dr. Olagoke and Via Christi, we are ensuring that Reno County residents can receive expert diagnostic and follow-up care right here on our campus. This collaboration reduces the travel burden for our patients and helps us fulfill our mission of providing comprehensive, high-quality care to the families we serve.”

The clinic is currently accepting referrals and scheduling patients. Individuals interested in receiving care at Ascension Via Christi Electrophysiology in Hutchinson should speak with their doctor about a referral.
