The Hutchinson Central Christian boys as a team and Cael Kooiman as an individual paced the field at the Heart of the Plains League/Wheat State League Challenge Tuesday at the par-71 Hesston Golf Course.
The Cougar golf squad placed first with a 355 score, followed by Solomon 373, Stafford 407, Canton-Galva 408, Pretty Prairie 408, Herington 417 and Goessel 432.
Norwich, Attica and Lost Springs-Centre did not field enough players for a team score.
Kooiman placed first with a 6-over-par 77, edging out Easton Glessner of Lost Springs-Centre and Goessel’s Levi Scrag, who placed second and third with 78s.
Central Christian’s Tyler Reed placed fifth, 87; Adam Eigsti, 12th, 93; Bo Hobbes, 17th, 98; and Bruce Wilson, 20th, 102.
Dawson Dick led the Pretty Prairie Bulldogs with a 93 and placed 11th. He was followed by Eli Anderson, 14th, 97; Weston Lanning, 22nd, 104; Collin Weide, 30th, 114; and Eli Young, 32nd, 115.
