Four Blue Dragons Earn Ping All- District Honors

Four members of the Jayhawk Conference and Region 6 Tournament champion Hutchinson Community College men’s golf team were named PING NJCAA all-Central Region players on Monday.

Announced at the NJCAA Division I Men’s Golf National Tournament Banquet in Newton on Monday night, sophomores Corey Scullion and Jack Northgraves and freshmen Grant Hatzenbuehler and Hugo Duquaine received all-district honors.

The Blue Dragons are set to play in the 2026 national championship, the 25th consecutive season Hutchinson has qualified. The Championship begins on Tuesday morning at Sand Creek Station in Newton.

CORY SCULLION
Scullion, a sophomore from England, has posted one tournament victory and seven Top 10 finishes. Scullion won the Oakwood Intercollegiate in Enid, Oklahoma this season. He placed fourth in the KJCCC Tournament, fifth in the Region 6 Tournament and fourth in the Central District qualifier.

Over 29 rounds this season, Scullion is averaging 70.5 strokes per round. He is the No. 1 golfer in Region 6 and is ranked eighth nationally according to the Clippd Player Rankings.

JACK NORTHGRAVES
Northgraves, the Jayhawk Conference champion from Scarborough, England, has one tournament win and six Top 10 finishes in his sophomore season. Northgraves also finished third in the Region 6 Tournament and eighth in the Central District Qualifier.

Averaging 71.2 strokes per season, Northgraves owns a No. 2 regional ranking and a No. 15 NJCAA ranking.

HUGO DUQUAINE
Duquaine, a freshman from Belgium, is the 2026 Region 6 Tournament individual champion, his lone tournament win of the season. He has three Top 5 finishes in 2025-26. Duquaine earned all-Jayhawk Conference honors with a fourth-place finish. He finished fifth in the Central District Qualifier in Springfield, Missouri.

Duquaine averaged 72.1 strokes per round in 26 rounds played this season. According to the Clippd Player Rankings, Duquaine is ranked No. 4 in Region 6 and has a No. 27 national ranking.

GRANT HATZENBUEHLER
A freshman from Andover, Hatzenbuehler’s best season individual finish was fourth place at the Bend Tree Intercollegiate and he has four Top 10 finishes this season. Hatzenbuehler earned all-conference and all-region honors with a sixth-place showing at the KJCCC Championships and a fifth-place performance at Region 6.

Hatzenbuhler is averaging 71.98 strokes per game. He is ranked fifth in the region and No. 32 in the NJCAA this season.

2026 BLUE DRAGONS
Hutchinson is bidding for its sixth-straight Top 10 national tournament finish. Hutchinson won back-to-back national championships in 2021 and 2022, placed fifth in 2023, ninth in 2023 and was fourth last season.

The 2026 Blue Dragons are ranked seventh in the nation entering the national championship. They are averaging 286.5 strokes per round over 32 rounds this season.

The Dragons have won three tournaments this season, winning the Bent Tree Intercollegiate in the fall, the KJCCC Championship and the Region 6 Championship. The Dragons placed second in the Central District qualifier two weeks ago.

The Blue Dragons will be paired with Eastern Florida State and Tyler Junior College, the eighth and ninth teams in the national rankings.

Scullion, Northgraves, Duquaine, Hatzenbuehler and Matt Vearncombe will be the team lineup. The Dragons will tee off at Sand Creek Station from Hole No. 1 from 9:10 to 9:50 a.m.
