Hutchinson CC Sports Information
After a tremendous performances in the Region 6 Outdoor Track and Field Championships that helped the Hutchinson Community College women’s track and field team to its best finish in team history, Blue Dragon freshman thrower Xylavene Beale was named the KJCCC Field Athlete of the Week for the sixth time this season.
Beale, a freshman from Albury, Australia, was named the 2026 Region 6 Outdoor Track and Field Championships Women’s High Point Athlete of the Meet after winning individual regional championships in the shot put and discus while taking second in the hammer throw. Beale won the shot put with a mark of 51 feet, 2 1/2 inches (15.60 meters) and added the discus title with a mark of 167-3 (50.98 meters) before placing runner-up in the hammer throw with a mark of 164-11 (50.27 meters).
The 28 points scored were part of Hutchinson’s 140 total team points that led to an NJCAA Region 6 runner-up team finish.
Beale continues to lead the NJCAA in both the shot put and discus.
The Blue Dragons will next compete at the NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 14-16 in Hobbs, New Mexico.
