Manhattan defeated Hesston 335-341 for the team title at the Southeast of Saline Invitational Monday at the par-70 Salina Municipal Golf Course.
Beloit placed third with a 356 score, followed by Cheney 366, Southeast of Saline 372, Republic County 377, Hillsboro 384, Halstead 398, Council Grove 402, Solomon 425, Salina Sacred Heart 430, Herington 472 and Ell-Saline 473.
The top three golfers in the tournament were Southeast of Saline’s Adam Thiel, 73; Cheney’s Kooper Williams, 75; and Manhattan’s Cash Cavender, 82.
Cavender defeated Beloit’s Carter Jermark and Hesston’s Reece Buhrman in a playoff for third place. Both also shot 82s.
Halstead was paced by Maxx Linton, who placed 18th with a 91.
