McPherson High School’s Track & Field and Girls Swimming teams had a strong weekend, seeing multiple PR’s and high finishes by both teams.
TRACK & FIELD
The Track & Field team had a strong day in Abilene on Friday, April 27, as the boys team placed 2nd and the girls finished 7th.
The Varsity and JV teams set 68 new personal records in their meets, according to head coach John Montgomery. McPherson’s varsity team had five meet winners: Brynn Littlejohn in the Girls Shot Put, Ashton Malm in the 100m Dash, Caden Wenderott in the Boys Discus, the 4×100 Rumble Relay team (Mason Miller, Dylan Hall, James Fritzmeier, Dadem Wenderott), and the 4×100 Relay team (Jayren Stutzman, Brody Hoffman, Kinnick Anderson, Ashton Malm. The 4×100 team recorded the fastest time in 4A this season so far.

GIRLS SWIMMING
The McPherson Girls Swim team placed 2nd in the Salina Invitational on Friday, April 24.
While the Bullpups did not win any events, they finished in the top five in nine instances. Adyson Wiens led by finishing second in the 50 Freestyle and the 100 Breaststroke. Ella Schrag had a strong day as well, placing 4th in the 100 Butterfly and 5th in the 200 IM. Roxy Riedel also finished in 2nd in the 100 Backstroke.
